Trump International Hotel & Towers Chicago

Chicago, IL 54321 1 reviews "I couldn't agree with poshbrood's review of Trump Chicago. My family (husband + 2 children ages 7 & 8) spent an amazing few nights there this past August. We had 2 rooms, side by side-the hotel closed off the end part of the hallway on our floor so my children's room and our 'grown' up room kept front doors open-while having the hall door act as the main front door to our amazing set-up...it was our own LARGE slice of heaven...staff was fabulous, location great and we were tempted to cxl rest of road trip and set-up camp at the Trump. Kids swam in the beautiful pool with huge windows over looking Chicago River and Lake Michigan. I took advantage of several spa treatments, which were wonderful...my children still talk about the cool hotel with huge rooms-we all cannot wait to go back!"

Trump International Hotel & Tower New York

New York, NY 32121 1 reviews "Some of Toronto’s top lxruuy hotels would include The Hazelton, The Windsor Arms and the SoHo Metropolitan. For restaurants I recommend Colborne Lane, North 44, Canoe or Splendido."

Tribeca Grand Hotel

New York, New York 43211 1 reviews "Great place to stay! Next time, however, I think we'll go back without the kids. We would have loved to be able to explore the Tribeca hood without a tired 3 year-old, and also would have loved to hang out in their lounge late into the night."

Topaz Hotel

Washington, DC 54321 1 reviews "We stayed here on a whim. Anniversary night and were supposed to stay at the Tabard Inn but it was too quirky and rustic. Not our scene. We switched to Topaz for a last minute steal of $100 ish dollars. Big comfy bed, clean modern room, no weird dollies. LOVE. Will return with kids!"

The Westin Monache Resort

The Waldorf Astoria

New York, NY 43211 1 reviews "Stunning old world hotel in strolling distance to Mid-Town fun. Pre-baby we'd stayed in a residential suite and it was beyond fabulous--I was ready to move in to the expansive living room, bedroom, dressing room and huge bathroom. Non-resi suite was perfect for travel with baby (W=A provided crib), though the fridge wasn't quite set up for personal use and had trouble getting our ice packs re-frozen for storing breast milk. Also took a small room for our nanny, who found it too low/loud to sleep above the fire station and had to move (not sure which side she was on, but she's a particularly light sleeper). Bit of a mess checking in with car and baby. Valet sent me in one direction, nanny and baby in another direction, and kept husband at car to sign in. Also, room service was a disappointment. Cold French toast with no syrup, etc. Most expensive room service-for-least-pleasure I've had in a long time."

The Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows

Kohala Coast, HI 54321 1 reviews "Just wanted to add that this hotel has a wonderful "hot pool for kids" (as our son calls it) -- a large jacuzzi kept at a moderate, kid-friendly temperature. Believe it or not, in this part of Hawaii there can be cool days due to heavy tradewinds, but at Mauna Lani your kids can keep swimming no matter what!"

The Jefferson Hotel

Richmond, VA 43211 1 reviews "We absolutely love The Jefferson! My husband and I went to MCV in Richmond, so we have a special spot in our hearts for this city and this grand hotel. After many, many stays here, we always love coming back and it truly never gets old. The staff here is positively amazing, breakfast is wonderful (both the champagne brunch and the often times included breakfast at Lemaires). Our daughters love the grand staircase and everything about this "fancy hotel." The pool is nice too, although it is kept a bit cold (for my blood) and has definitely more of an adult/lap pool feel to it. The girls didn't mind, but that is my feeling of the water temperature. If you sign up for their emails, The Jefferson offers many specials and Richmond weekend packages. We try to get back here annually and we are never disappointed. From starting off as young college kids to now middle aged parents of two, there is something for everyone at The Jefferson. We have stayed at many fine hotels and this is definitely a top favorite."

The Homestead

Hot Springs, VA 54321 4 reviews "We love this resort! We were fortunate to go this past August, just after the resort had opened up their new swimming pool areas (although the lazy river portion was still under construction). The outdoor pools (particularly the splash pad area for younger kids) was wonderful. We loved the family friendly activities - the outside fire pit, cornhole boards, bowling, the pools (both indoor and out), and the afternoon tea. My girls also loved "playing" chess and checkers on the gorgeous antique (like) tables off the main lobby. I would definitely agree with previous posters that you should go ahead and book the breakfast package. Otherwise, the little coffee shop was very busy and very expensive. Also, I would suggest making reservations well in advance for dinner, as the main dining room was fully booked for any "family friendly" dining times and we ended up just paying for room service. This resort has a lot of other things to do, but most are at an additional charge. I would recommend looking over all of the fees before reading off the choices to your little ones if you are trying to not blow the budget. This is a gorgeous resort with the "Old Virginia" hospitality that we love, The resort and grounds are impeccable and we can't wait to go back again this Summer!"

The Greenbrier Resort

White Sulphur Springs, WV 43211 2 reviews "I was at the Greenbrier in June 2011 with my husband and 2 daughters to celebrate my father-in-law's 80th birthday. We had a group of 25 family members with kids ranging in age from 5 to 16. It was a really great trip -- zillions of activities for a multigenerational crowd including interesting things like geocaching and falconry alongside tennis, swimming and golf, and plenty of dining options and the beautiful grounds and amazing Dorothy Draper decor. Like the other reviewer, we stayed in the cottages, which were spacious and very comfortable (but the bathrooms were not as modern as I would have expected for the level of the resort and the rooms' cost). The reason I give the resort a low rating for Poshbrood, however, was because we found the services for the under 12 crowd to be remarkably bad. The Adventure Camp was very boring for my girls and, despite promises that they'd have age-appropriate activities, all the activities were geared towards the under 6-year-olds (my girls are 9 and 12). The camp claims they take advantage of all the resort's offerings (rock-climbing, swimming, hiking, croquet) and mix things up day-to-day but all my kids did for a full day was go to two different playgrounds (one was a 30-minute drive away)! Then one night we had a private dinner and hired sitters to take all the kids bowling so they didn't have to listen to the adults chit chat. The sitters couldn't have been more lackluster. They never made it to the bowling alley and then just put the kids in a room to watch TV while they sat in the adjacent living room. They didn't show any initiative or instill confidence. If I had had younger kids, who were still really dependent, I would never have sent them off with those sitters. Additionally, we had some issues with our on-staff event planner and our group meals and the way the Greenbrier responded to our concerns was not adequate at all. I wish I could have written a better review because we loved our time with our family and the occasion was such fun! The resort is beautiful and most of the activities were terrific but the kid-care options are bad and the customer service is not at the level it should be for this level of resort."

The Empire Hotel

New York, NY 43211 1 reviews "Unfortunatly i've never travelled in New York or Milan, but I did a lot in Paris. It dedenps what you mean by not too expensive , because usually the 4star hotel are a bit expensive. But I can advise you a few great 3 stars . The hotel Relais Bosquet in the 7th arrondissement, close to the Eiffel Tower, it's a safe and nice place. The hotel has reasonnable prices! . hotel-paris-bosquet. com/ . The hotel Elysees Union is very beautiful! The suites are huge, and rather luxurious. It's close to the Arc de Triomphe! This is a good value for money. . elysees-paris-hotel. com/ . And to finish I'm thinking about the hotel Palais Bourbon, in the 7th too, but in the other side, near the Rodin museum and the Invalides. The hotel is very charming, and the staff is great! Good place! . bourbon-paris-hotel. com/"

St. Regis Monarch Beach

Dana Point, CA 54321 3 reviews "Love it, love it, love it! Everything is as stated in Posh Brood's fab review. A few things I would add. We've stayed at this property three times and if you can swing a junior or one room suite - do it! Not only do you get more room to stretch out, but you also receive butler service which means a designated contact for all your needs, coffee/tea service with your newspaper of choice each morning and other goodies. Second, the staff at the Sandcastle Kids Club are wonderful. We were there off-season so there weren't many kids, but it made our son want to go back for more. I would say the the space is a little small and not very airy compared with kids clubs at other properties, but the service makes up for it. Bottom line -- an amazing, chic family get-away."

Round Hill Hotel & Villas Resort

Montego Bay, Jamaica 54321 2 reviews "Love Round HIll and have been there numerous times both adults only and with kids/grandparents. The villas are lovely but range in quality (renovated vs unrenovated etc). It is wonderful to wake up and have breakfast made to order. The people who work there are warm, accomodating and friendly. The spa is high end. It is so relaxing and chill. The afternoon tea is a lovely break in the day. We always go in the "off season" which i understand is a very different scene - more relaxed etc."

Raffeallo Hotel Chicago

Chicago, IL 43211 2 reviews "My fiance and I stayed at Raffaello for a long weekend getaway shortly after getting engaged. We found the hotel to be the perfect mix of quaint yet chic, romantic, friendly staff and perfect location -- especially considering the inexpensive nightly rate ($159/night in mid-July -- though that was 2008). It may have just been the buzz I still had from my newly adorned blinging ring finger, but I thought this place was just spectacular. Did you check out the rooftop garden? Very romantic. I would definitely stay here again."

Omni Bedford Springs Resort & Spa

Bedford, PA 54321 1 reviews "Perfect family destination -- we've gone with our two boys twice and loved it. Great spa, great pools, stuff for parents and kids. Accommodating wait staff. We played on the front lawn during a holiday weekend and kids ran around and had a blast. I still dream about the view of the mountains from the pool. Little extra things like free smoothies, s'mores, tea, etc. and you feel taken care of and no nickel and dime-ing. All the amenities of a large hotel but it's also intimate and cozy. We can't wait to go back!!"

Old Faithful Inn

Yellowstone, MT 43211 1 reviews "Great fun and lots to see. The rooms are updated and very nice. You need to book WAY ahead. We stayed in "the old house" because it was all that was available. There is a basin in the room, but the toilets and showers are down the hall. You HAVE to do it at least once in your life! The drive through the Grand Tetons going and/or coming is wonderful. Stay in Jackson at least one night. The kids love the "street show" which closes down the main road each night for about 20 minutes."

La Quinta Resort & Club

La Quinta , CA 54321 3 reviews "I agree with everything in Lindsay's review. The La Quinta resort is absolutely spectacular and by far one of the most kid-friendly hotels my family has ever stayed in. The last time we were passing through the Palm Springs area, we stopped at the resort to have some dinner at Adobe Grille. My 7-year-old daughter was so upset that we weren't staying the night there this time that she actually began to cry! And you should see the spread they put together for Easter brunch... truly an amazing sight!"

Kingsmill Resort

Williamsburg, VA 43211 3 reviews "I stayed there with a 3 and 1 year old two years ago. We stayed in a one bedroom suite and it was very roomy for all of us. We appreciated the kitchenette, microwave, fridge, etc. The resort brought a pack and play for the baby. We loved breakfast, walking the grounds, the pool and especially the early bus to Busch Gardens and Splashdown Water Park. Both have activities for small children. I even snuck away for a spa treatment at Kingsmill. We loved it and hope to go back soon."

Jamaica Villas by Linda Smith

Montego bay, Jamaica 54321 3 reviews "We just returned from an incredible 9 days at Noble House! There were 9 in our 2 family group, 4 adults and 5 kids, ranging in age from 7-13. The lawn, the beach, the pool -- the house!! It was off the hook! The kids swam in the pool and even out to the reef where we all snorkeled. There are 2 sea kayaks which were always in use. And games from rugby to bacce ball (we brought the balls) were played endlessly on the lovely grass. The staff was so wonderful, we were misty-eyed when it was time to say goodbye. Linda Smith's staff in Maryland was also incredibly helpful, making it easy for us in every way. I highly recommend hiring a driver. Richard made our day trips (zip lining, sailing, Negril) and night trips easy and relaxed. (Ionie, the house manager, stayed late to babysit, bless her heart! ) Joy's cooking was so fantastic, we only ate dinner out once, when we were in Negril. While we were in the house, Errol, Birdie and Valerie tended to our every need. The house was divine, with insanely luxurious bedrooms and expansive outdoor/indoor space. (We could have fit more) We took full advantage of the Round Hill and Tryall memberships, playing tennis and enjoying those beaches and pools. We can't wait to go back!"

The rooms were beautiful and each was unique in every way! Every amenity one could ask for to make the stay comfortable and relaxing!! Beautiful furnishings, Jacuzzi tub, comfy bed, fantastic food, and sincere hospitality! Everyone at Woodford Inn made each of us feel at home and with Addie's Restaurant, quaint bar, patio, and sitting room, we felt we were a part of the Inn and the family . Linda, you have a gem and cannot say enough about the Inn and everyone there that made this weneked amazing!I look forward to my next stay at this perfect little Inn with huge personality and warmth!"

Ilam House—Caanan Valley, West Virginia

Davis, WV 54321 3 reviews "Ilam House is a fantastic house for the family, or several families at once! It is in a gorgeous setting as the trees from the forest surround you. It is far from the city life, noise and lights, but not too far from a small town for shopping and eating out. Ilam House is situated in a great location for ample recreational opportunities. Nearby the house one can engage in cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking and mountain biking, and a bit further white water rafting. In the winter, and the snow is fantastic! One could not ask for more picturesque scenery for skiing, hiking, snowshoeing. Ilam House is so kid friendly! The children had so much fun exploring in the woods, sitting around the campfire roasting marshmallows and telling stories, soaking in the hot tub, participating in the ping pong and horseshoes tournaments, playing cards and board games. The huge first floor "hid out room" is fantastic for children! It's a very large room where there are huge beanbag chairs, TV with cable and a DVD player, ping-pong table and a lot of board games. The owners truly thought of the whole family when designing this home! One could just come to cook in the kitchen at Ilam House! The layout of the kitchen/eating area and living room is wonderful. It makes for a great time for cooking and continuing to socialize. Plus, the hot tub is right outside on the deck, which can be viewed from the kitchen/eating area and living room. We were so impressed with the kitchen. A lot of counter space, two ovens and a microwave oven, two sinks, and tastefully decorated. Having to cook and serve for 12 people is no problem at Ilam House! Off the kitchen is a laundry room. It is wonderful with little children to be able to do laundry on site! We loved that there were two master bedrooms. One master bedroom had an office space for those who cannot totally get away; there is wireless, so it is easy to stay in contact with the office. The bunk bed rooms were fantastic for the children. Ilam House is truly a fantastic home to vacation with family and friends."

Grosvenor House Hotel

London , United Kingdom

Glendorn

Bradford, PA 43211 1 reviews "We just came back from a week vacation at Glendorn. I think most people come for a long weekend from the Pittsburgh area so it was great having the entire place almost all to ourselves for most of the week. It really gave us the chance to do many of the activities on property and interact with the staff as well. Overall a very nice place to stay to enjoy upstate PA and NY. You really have to like outdoorsy type of activities to want to stay here because there are no fine art galleries, amusement parks, shopping, etc anywhere near there. You can do some great antiquing in the area but you really need to know what you are doing to weed through a lot of junk passing off as antiques. The property itself is very interesting.....it's a beautiful place that is well maintained. No doubt about that. The big house (main eating area, communal spaces and some guest rooms) is very nice and the various cabins are unique in their own ways (each cabin is different in size, layout and décor - I know this because I went into most of them). We stayed in Jill's Cabin as well and the layout is perfect for a family. The Roost is an amazing cabin and if I were to go back that's definitely the cabin I would want to stay in. The brochure calls the place rustic luxury and for the most part I agree with that but I thought it was walking the fine line of shabby given that it's a Relais and Chateaux property. Maybe I'm just not into mismatched furniture from the 60's and 70's so the decor was lost on me. The previous owners of the property, the Dorn Family, pretty much left everything there and the new owners thought it was nice to keep the place as-is. So in our cabin there were family photo albums, books, paintings, etc from the family that lived there. A cool idea that would be even better with more modern furniture (not modern looking - just newer stuff). Beds and pillows were very comfy (obviously new) and the linens and towels were all very good quality. We had cable several tvs in our cabin, phones, internet access through Wi-Fi, bathroom amenities...everything you get from a Relais property. There was the usual turn-down service at night and daily cleaning. What really makes this place GREAT is the staff. Anything you want, they will do their best to accommodate. We ran late a couple of days and they made sure to shift around stuff to accommodate us and our planned activities. By mid-week they knew our daily schedule with the kids and made it that much easier on us. It was like one big family, very nice staff. Lastly, the main house serves breakfast/lunch/dinner but you can also have that brought to your cabin or room. You can even have them set-up your meal by the pool, several different lakes or just about anywhere on the property you'd like. Food was very good and reasonably priced. I would recommend this place and would go back. I would just make sure that they understand the rustic luxury part."
