Trump International Hotel & Tower New York
Poshbrood recently had an overnight at the Trump International Hotel & Tower in New York and we immediately wished we had several nights at the luxe hotel, not just one.
While the Trump name exudes super luxury and prestige, the Trump Hotel brand is also super kid-friendly. Our brood has enjoyed the Trump Kids Program at Trump Soho and Trump Hotel in Chicago and the Trump Kids amenities at the Central Park West location was also a delight.
First, you can't say enough about the Trump New York's location. The hotel is just off Central Park, right at the juncture of Columbus Circle and Broadway. Within minutes from leaving the hotel's iconic entrance, you and the littles can be at the fabulous Heckscher Playground in Central Park or the Carousel. The Columbus Circle subway stop is steps away from the front door of the hotel with Lincoln Center, restaurants and Fifth Avenue a mere stroll away.
The hotel lobby is chic and intimate and service superlative. At check in, small guests will immediately receive a Trump Kids bag and activity kit that has personalized calling cards inside. Such a sweet touch and our girls covet these cards. When we arrived at our room, we were simply stunned by the view of the NYC skyline and canopy of fall foliage in the park.
A jaded New Yorker came by for a cocktail and also was speechless. Our room, which was a two-bedroom park view suite, would be the ultimate place to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade which passes in front of the hotel. The floor to ceiling windows of the 52 story Trump offers a VIP-view of the iconic parade. That's now on our bucket list.
Back to our room, we were welcomed by a plate full of chocolate covered strawberries (in tuxes, so cute) from Jean-George and immediately gobbled those up while soaking up the dream views of Manhattan.
The Trump New York had a huge renovation in 2010 and our suite was large, airy, chic and felt like our own pied-à-terre. The two bedroom suite is a whopping 1350 to 1540 square feet and had a living/dining area with a plush velvet queen-sized sofa bed and a dining area accented by a spectacular Schonbek crystal chandelier.
There was also a desk positioned right up against the 10 foot floor to ceiling glass window that I made Poshbrood's NYC headquarters. Oh, I've never been so happy to be on deadline!
Our suite also featured a separate, European-style kitchen stocked with Trump water, Trump vodka, Trump coffee, a coffee maker and appliances by Sub-Zero.
So covenient for families and longer stays. With the pull out couch and the two bedrooms (one king bedded, one queen) the suite could easily accommodate a family of six and not feel cramped. There is even a half bath/powder room in the gallery foyer.
Trump Kids provided mini Trump robes for kids, no-tears bath products and a Trump rubber duckie for the bath. There is also a kids' menu and a kiddie cocktail menu, they really do welcome the littlest guests!
Another amazing amenity at the Trump is the 3 Michelin Star Dining at Jean Georges and their more casual dining option, Nougatine serving breakfast, lunch & dinner. There is also 24-hour in-room dining by Jean Georges.Yes please! We went to Nougatine for a light supper at the bar and the food and ambiance was perfect. Their cucumber martini is not to be missed!
A late breakfast the following day at Nougatine had us at a table adjacent to Adam Sandler and his entourage.
If guests are weary from sightseeing or shopping, they can book a relaxing spa treatment in the hotel's incredible 6,000 square foot Trump Spa.
The spa also offers an extensive health club, heated indoor pool, steam baths and sauna. You can book a personal trainer, take a yoga class or even arrange for a swimming lesson, fitness training or a boxing lesson for the kids! There is always a lifeguard on duty so that families can enjoy the pool without worry.
Trump beds are super comfy and despite being in the thick of the Upper West Side, we didn't hear a peep that night. The soundproof glass and the blackout shades do the trick. We loved our stay at Trump New York and cannot wait to go back to our fantasy pied-à-terre.
Room rates begin at $550 a night for a superior queen room -- their entry level room at a generous 440 square feet. Book through Poshbrood for the best rates and added amenities.
