Tribeca Grand Hotel
Poshbrood has stayed at Tribeca Grand several times in the last few years. The hotel is very hip, in a great location and has reasonable rates for NYC. Plus, the Tribeca Grand is outrageously kid and pet-friendly. The hotel offers “Grand Babies” and “Grand Kids” programs. For guests traveling with newborns, babies, and toddlers, the complimentary Grand Babies program allows parents to have their guest room specially customized with cribs, protective bumpers, outlet protectors, baby bath kits, and travel totes with baby basics. Additional items, including strollers, wipes, high chairs, pacifiers, diaper pails, and baby bathrobes, are available upon request. Older children receive a welcome package which includes a Grand Kids Guide with recommendations on local shopping, attractions, and activities. Grand Pets is a program of amenities to ensure the hotel’s four-legged guests feel at home, including pet beds, food and water dishes, pet crates and pet walking services. You can also opt for a goldfish pet during your stay which is always a huge hit with the kids.
The Tribeca Grand Hotel’s lobby and lounge is stunning. The lobby is a 10,000-square-foot atrium that extends from the ground floor to the top level with the 200 rooms built around it. The Church Lounge adjacent to the lobby is a great place to hang out en famille since it is a large, lively and great people watching. We enjoyed the casual American menu that works for shorties and adults. We had mac and cheese, salad, fries, a cheese platter and mini burgers. De-lish!
Poshbrood stayed in a one bedroom suite. On our most recent trip, we called the hotel directly and got a great rate by negotiating with the agent. We basically got the one-bedroom suite with separate living room for the price of a King Deluxe room. The hotel does offer connecting two-bedroom suites as well. The décor is very 60’s with platform beds and very modern bathrooms. The bed was heavenly and all slept very well – but perhaps that was due to the white noise machine in our room? We had a quite room but we’re guessing that if you are on a lower floor you might be able to hear the lounge noise, especially on a weekend night. Attention, Tribeca Grand, Poshbrood is ready to test drive your gorge mid-century modern Presidential Suite anytime!!
We loved the neighborhood, easy access to main Subway lines and exploring Washington Market Park with the kids and the Tribeca Dog Run with our dogs. From $450 double; from $699 suite. Promotional and Internet-only rates as low $259 when we went to print. Ask about value added packages.
