The BodyHoliday Le Sport
Call Grandma stat and arrange sitters.
The BodyHoliday Le Sport in St. Lucia is an adult-only, all-inclusive luxury resort and wellness retreat. It's perfect for couples to relax and recharge or a girlfriend's getaway.
The BodyHoliday is a unique combination of one of the world's most beautiful islands, a resort that provides caring personal service, a Wellness Centre and a range of activities that could keep you busy from dawn until dusk -- but only if you want to. You can also choose to lay by the pool, reading a book, swimming in the gorgeous azure waters and do nothing.
On top of this the resort caters for every taste in food and drink with three great restaurants and relaxing bars. It is very easy to eat healthy, delicious foods here and also have no problem enjoying your fruity cocktails.
St. Lucia is relatively easy to get to from most major cities -- there are direct flights from NYC, Charlotte, Philadelphia, Atlanta, London and Toronto. I flew to Miami and then made a quick change. St. Lucia is very far South in the Caribbean and breathtaking.
The ride from the airport is about an hour an a half through the mountains and rain forests. We took a helicopter back to the airport on the way home that was gorgeous and a quick 15 minutes. The resort will arrange that for $175 each way per person.
Upon arrival, we were given fresh juice, cold towels and escorted to our room. The resort had a $20M facelift/renovation in 2011 and is beautiful.
I was traveling solo but had a gorgeous grand ocean front luxury junior suite. It was more than enough space for one person and I loved my balcony over looking the sea.
The mini bars are stocked daily and fresh fruit delivered to the room each day as a part of your room rate. How nice it is to be able to grab anything from the minibar and not have to worry that it costs $15.
The beach is stunning and on it guests will find the Activities Center where you can be as active as you want to be.
Choose from many water sports including sailing, snorkeling, kayaking, windsurfing or waterskiing. I did paddle boarding several times and enjoyed a tube ride with the fabulous Janine Cifelli way more than an adult should. We screamed like girls.
I also did two water aerobics classes that were a blast (and hard!), a great pilates class and a morning power walk that was FAST and for the first 15 minutes mostly uphill.
At the very center of this beautiful resort is the Wellness Centre. Condé Nast Traveller has consistently voted Le BodyHoliday best spa retreat in Caribbean. I went to the spa for two treatments -- one a very relaxing Ayurvedic analysis and specialized massage and the other a cranial sacral therapy that left me feeling lighter and better.
The spa is stunning. After the treatment, I enjoyed a restful tea and read my book. The technicians were amazing.
Here is the view from the spahhh....
Food and drink are included in the BodyHoliday rates and it's fresh and delicious. There are four restaurants and a piano bar. We had lovely meals at Tao, their upscale Asian Fusion restaurant, The Clubhouse, the waterfront Deli (get the Greek wrap -- delish!) and the beachfront Cariblue Restaurant. The deli had amazing post-workout smoothies too.
The BodyHoliday Le Sport is a perfect healthy beach getaway in a gorgeous setting. Added bonus is that the resort is owned and run by the Barnard family and is not a part of a large chain.
The BodyHoliday slogan is: “Give us your body for a week and we’ll give you back your mind.” They can have my body anytime!
Rates begin at $550 a night and include accommodations, all meals, premium beer, wine and cocktails, all beach activities, exercise classes, nightly entertainment and a 50-minute spa treatment per day. Book through Poshbrood/SmartFlyer!
