Spring Break Travel & Bathing Suit Torture
Hello Moms, Is there anything more bittersweet than a killer Spring Break Family Vacation when you still have to buy a bathing suit? For most of us, probably not…
For those of you who are muffin-top free and can rock a bikini—even in a fluorescent dressing room—I commend you. (And hate you.)
There’s hope for the rest of us…yes, I discovered Heather Bauer’s Bread is the Devil.
Heather Bauer is a nationally recognized nutrition expert, author, and founder of Nu-Train, a New York City-based diet and nutrition counseling center. Heather is also an adorable, cool mom who lives in Connecticut with her husband, daughter and twin boys!
Having kids has not gotten Heather down or fat. Over the last decade Heather has taught thousands of people how to safely lose weight and keep it off for good. Her success stories range from those working long hours on Wall Street, to doctors, lawyers, mothers, athletes and celebrities.
Her new book, Bread is the Devil is a great read. It’s for those of us who are not obese but just a little thicker or a few sizes than we’d like to be (or once were pre-kids). The book focuses on how to stop mindlessly inhaling the breadbasket and stop shoveling in the M&M’S– Bread is the Devil—is the solution for all of you diet saboteurs out there.
Heather also believes strongly that moms are super busy, have no free time and stress eating. How many times have I eaten several chicken nuggets or spoonfuls of Mac N’ Cheese before sitting down to my own proper dinner? Sadly, too many to count.
Another reason I want her to be my BFF is she thinks exercise is overrated. (LOVE IT!) Heather believes that to lose weight, diet is most important and really focusing on healthy eating strategies, avoiding triggers that make you freak out and eat a tube of raw cookie dough *ahem* and shedding the first wave of pounds so your clothes fit better, you look better, feel better and then can rock it at Zumba, running in the park or the gym.
So all you moms about to Spring Break and want to minimize the muffin…You should buy this book. Seriously.
Bread is the Devil is available at all major bookstores and online.
PS Heather, I’m eating my GG Scandanivian Bran Crisp Crackers right now! (One of her healthy eating tips pour moi.)
