Moving in at Disney World, Living the Luxurious Life
This post from guest poster Kate Rockland was sponsored by Disney.
If joining the Disney Vacation Club is like dating, then buying one of the $2-10 million homes in the exclusive Golden Oak neighborhood is like marrying into the Disney family. I was lucky enough to fly down to Orlando to tour one of these homes, and I was immediately super jealous of the upstairs bedroom where custom-made Disney princess murals decorated the walls!
Disney first broke ground on Golden Oak in 2010, but a brand new neighborhood called Kingswell is being built. Residents get to cozy up to the nearby 443-room Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort, with access to the resort’s spa, tennis, fitness facility, restaurants and Tranquilo Golf Club.
I had dinner in Summerhouse, the clubhouse for Golden Oak, and the food was delish! The private clubhouse is home to a full-service restaurant named Markham’s, and a bar, Tyler’s Lounge. Other featured amenities include a family room with a gaming area, fitness facilities with locker rooms and a pool. An outdoor fire pit, a courtyard, a function lawn (they have yoga outdoors, fun!) and park areas are also available for year-round recreation.
Summerhouse is also home to the Resident Services team who coordinates special events for the community. Imagine celebrating the holidays in the clubhouse, complete with a visit from your favorite Frozen characters! The Resident Services team also provides luxury vehicle transportation to take you to any of the theme parks. Residents also enjoy unique Disney benefits including Extra Magic Hours, or early entrance into the parks, similar to the benefit one receives when staying at a Walt Disney World resort.
Owning a piece of property on land Walt picked out in the 1960’s starts at a steep price: $2 million and up. But the idea of being a part of that magic forever? Priceless!
Our guest poster this week is Kate Rockland. Kate lives in New Jersey with her husband and three unruly children. When she’s not making forts out of pillows or begging people to buy one of her two novels, she loves traveling through New England.
